Sri Lanka 12 nights
January - February
This trip was amazing, the quality of all aspects of the trip were Brilliant, we are totally in love with the hotels and would definitely stay at them again as the staff were fantastic, the rooms were beautiful and the food choices were great.
We cannot remember the last time we were both so relaxed and happy, it was the best time of our lives it truly is paradise.
We loved the west coast beach place, this felt like a home from home, and was by far our favourite hotel. The Spa here was phenomenal! they truly when the extra mile, the touches of private jacuzzi afterwards was lovely and very reasonably priced, 18,000 rupees (£90 ish) for 2 massages, foot scrub, full body scrub, and private jacuzzi. We also loved the fact we could just go for a walk on the beach, the pool was lovely, and again the brilliant staff really made this hotel.
The tea plantation place that was a converted tea factory was a very interesting hotel and was great to experience, it was wonderful to see how diverse Sri Lanka is and this area is breathtaking, the tea picking was really interesting.
Cultural triangle lodge style hotel was gorgeous too! We liked the wildlife and view. The fantastic staff found a private location for us to have a wonderful romantic experience, the food was fantastic and we felt very spoilt here they really did go the extra mile to make we had a amazing meal.
Mohan is an amazingly safe driver, we felt very relaxed when in the car with him.
AMAZING! Our cooking lesson was a massive highlight, very very good look into living in Sri Lanka, getting a tuk tuk to the market and fish market to get the items to cook with this was a great touch. the food was amazing! Karuna was a joy as was the group we were cooking with, this town was lovely to explore too, gorgeous beach and very relaxed.
The elephant orphanage was an incredible experience, as was the turtle hatchery, however would like to have gone later in the day so we could have released them into the sea.
With Sigiriya Rock we went early and it was a cooler day so we got to the top to see the breathtaking views very exciting and huge achievement for Simon as he is scared of heights!
We also did the brilliant river cruise and this was one of our favourites of the honeymoon, cinnamon island, and the temple, were very interesting.
Whale watching was lovely, it was nice to get up so early to see the sunrise.
Dambulla Caves were also breathtaking, and really lovely to be there while a Buddhist holiday so to witness family's come to worship was very special to us.
best memory of The trip
The cooking lesson hands down was one of our best days, but also just being by the beach and swimming in the sea in Sri Lanka. Snorkeling on the south coast and eating roti's. Discovering Arrack, and the Colombo tea cocktail. Breakfast! our best meal of the day so much fresh fruit and hoppers and dahl.
Just generally falling in love with Sri Lanka, its such a beautiful country we already want to go back and do the east coast, north and Yala.
We had the most incredible time.
We couldn't have asked for better people to have organised our honeymoon, Invite to paradise are a brilliant team and nothing is too much which is exactly what you want after the stress of organising a wedding. I don't think you could have done more. any issues we had were corrected straight away e.g. the paying for extra experiences was sorted that same day which is brilliant. All hotel staff were fantastic, and as we said Mohan was a great driver. We had already recommended you to people, and even some people while we were away! as their daughter is getting married this year so I suggested to the mother of the bride that they use you!
Thank you so much for everything you've done x
