We always get asked about the food and drink costs in good old Sri Lanka, and we love answering on the topic as we think our customers who go armed with the most knowledge don't have any nasty surprises when they get their dinner bill. Having said that the only surprise our customers tend to get when they get their bill is how amazing the value is.
Food and drink costs in Sri Lanka summed up in 2 words is 'great value'. To give you an idea in the type of hotels you would stay at if you booked your holiday with us you can get a top lunch for under £5 each and dinner for under £10 each or even £5 (and this is at 5* restaurants throughout Sri Lanka so we're very lucky). We can give you even more of an idea on the food variety and costs as we have put together a PDF document that shows a couple of 5* hotel menus from 2013 when our founders were back in Sri Lanka on a country wide tour. We've included all sorts of information and photos in this guide that we think might be helpful to you, if you would like us to send it to you then please just get in touch with your enquiry and we'll pop it along in an email for you.
Usually in a top Sri Lanka hotel you can end up eating so much for breakfast that a lot of people are not usually hungry enough for lunch, so they go straight through to dinner. Plus because it's so hot your appetite can tend to tail off at lunch time as it's the hottest part of the day.
Per day cost obviously depends on what you go for from the options on the hotel menus but as an example one day that Reece & Claire were in Sri Lanka last year they went for 1 lunch, 2 dinners, 1 pudding, 2 cocktails and 2 beers for a total of just £29.80 inclusive of all taxes. This was in a top 5 star a la carte restaurant and can be seen in the guide we have put together.
We would love to hear from you if you're interested in coming to Sri Lanka for a holiday, honeymoon or wedding so please feel free to ping over any questions you may have, or send us an enquiry as we're here to help you.
